There are three types of degrees that students of bachelor programs can be awarded, and this depends on their area of study:

Goals for the Undergraduate Experience

Within the context of each, students are provided with the opportunity to acquire relevant skills and knowledge.

The purpose of IAEC University is to promote and develop high-quality education and research in Togo and Africa. Our goal is to graduate students who are able to apply theoretical and discipline-specific knowledge to discover creative solutions to problems as to successfully communicate those ideas both individually and as part of a group.

SCHOLARSHIP PAYABLE FEES

IAEC University is able to offer our students an online degree tuition-free because of our unique model of online higher education. Our minimal processing fees help to maintain our tuition-free online degree structure—allowing all qualified students to receive their online degree without educational instruction expenses, course material, or annual enrollment fees. We ask for a non-refundable application fee of $60 or ₦24,000 and an assessment fee of $200 or ₦76,000 for full program which can be covered by numerous grants and scholarships.

The estimated total fees for the Bachelor’s degree are as follows: $260 or ₦100,000

Cancellations Policy

A student has the right to cancel this Agreement in any manner and at any time. Cancellation is effective five (5) days after the University receives notification of a student’s cancellation. During this time, you may notify the University that you no longer wish to cancel this Agreement. Notice of Cancellation is effective if it shows that the student no longer wishes to be bound by this Agreement or to continue their attendance at the University. If the student cancels this Agreement, the student shall not be liable to the University and the University shall refund any money paid through attendance at the first class session or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later, excepting any non-refundable fees.

Refund Policy

Students who drop or withdraw from a course within the required deadline are not required to pay the Assessment Fee. 
 
The Application Fee is nonrefundable except in instances when applicants withdraw their application for admission before an admissions decision is made. Applicants may write a formal request for a refund of the Application Fee to their personal advisor. If approved, refunds will be available to the applicant within 30 days of the submission of the formal request and the refund will be issued using the same payment method used by the applicant to pay the fee. 
 
Students who remain in their course beyond the course withdrawal deadline are not eligible for a refund of the Assessment Fee. The Assessment Fee is only refundable in instances where the University has canceled a student’s course or if the student’s work was not assessed at all during the course.

The Bachelor of Science requires the completion of at least 8 semester in 3 years(summer inclusive), including general education courses and all courses listed for the course requirements in the major.

  • Complete a minimum of 120 approved credits
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 in all coursework attempted at IAEC University.
  • Earn an overall grade point average of at least 2.00 in all courses taken in the major area of study
  • Complete all requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree in no more than 8 semesters of active enrollment excluding any periods of separation from the University
  • Complete the 8 required proctored exams

Grading Policies and Practices

The University ensures that students are issued grades in a timely fashion and that grades are determined in a manner that is accurate, fair, and consistently applied in accordance with established standards. At the conclusion of each term of study, students may check their grades in their official academic records in the Student Portal.

Since the unofficial academic record is a permanent record of a student’s academic performance, including course selections, grades, and credits earned toward a degree, it must be correct at all times. Students who believe an error has been made on their academic records should be in contact with the Office of Academic Affairs at academic.affairs@iaec-university.tg

Students are encouraged to speak to their Course Instructors if they wish further clarification of their grades, would like to discuss their assessments or are considering requesting a grade change. Students with further complaints regarding alleged unfair or improper grading at IAEC University and who are unable to reach a resolution with their Course Instructor may request a Grade Appeal form from the Office of Academic Affairs.

Technology Requirements

To complete a degree program at IAEC University, students will need to have consistent access to a computer or mobile device with a reliable internet connection. If students are working on a computer or mobile device that is not their personal computer and are unable to save documents, it’s important also to obtain an external drive. Because there are no mandatory video materials for IAEC University courses, this drive can be a simple USB drive.

Most of the learning materials that students will be dealing with in their IAEC University courses are compatible with Adobe PDF or Microsoft Office. Our learning platform can be accessed by the latest versions of IE, Safari, Opera, and Chrome, but we recommend that students use the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Note also that although working through a mobile device is not recommended, it is an option. There is no need to purchase software to study at IAEC University . IAEC University is an international authority by the government of Togolese Arete No 042/MERS/SG, Arete No 43/MESR/SG of 19th July, 2012 and Arrete N2019/153/MESR/SG/DEC of 23rd  december 2019.  African Institute of Science Administration and Commercial Studies (IAEC) Togo collaborate with various foreign Universities, Chartered and Certified Professional bodies to award dual degree certification in various field of studies. 3. Is it accredited in other countries?

We have not pursued accreditation in any other country – in many places, being accredited in the WHED. means that it is highly respected.

4. How many students will be accepted?

There is room for everyone in an online classroom and there is no limit to how many students can be accepted into IAEC University Online Education undergraduate programs.

5. Are there scholarships?

Yes. We have a variety of scholarships. We offer as many scholarships as we  have available. IAEC University will always remain dedicated to its mission of opening access to higher education worldwide and will continue striving to ensure that no qualified student will be denied studying with UoPeople due to financial constraints. 6. Who teaches the courses?

Our instructors are qualified people who volunteer and come from a wide range of universities and offer their services and expertise to help our students.

7. How much time per week will students need to dedicate to their courses?

On average, students should expect to spend 15-20 hours per course, per week

8. Do students study in cohorts?

No. Because we are an online university, and many of our students work while studying, we allow students to take breaks from studies if needed, and as a result, classes are mixed up every term.

We also believe strongly in making students part of the global economy by being part of the global village, and exposing students to all kinds of students from different cultures, in order to broaden their horizons. This is what makes our student’s global citizens.

9. Is there much support for students in an online classroom?

Absolutely. Highly qualified Instructors are assigned to classes of 20-30 students, usually representing as many countries, and the instructor is available to answer student’s questions and offer support. IAEC University student body hails from over multiple countries worldwide, inspiring interesting dialogue between peers, and offers students alternative perspectives to their own.

IAEC uNIVERSITY small online classroom setting allows for a community of supportive collective peer thinkers and teachers. Professors focus on each student’s needs and provide full support; while creating a community for students to work cooperatively and assist one another. Students share their experiences, so that knowledge-sharing and motivational support occurs on a peer-to-peer level, creating an open space for students to learn, share ideas, ask questions, and generate solutions pertaining to their academic experiences. Students are also provided with technical support throughout their studies in the classroom.

Each student is connected with a personal Program Advisor at the commencement of their studies, who remains with them until graduation. The student’s personal Program Advisor acts as his/her support system throughout their studies. He/she will answer any questions the student may have, offer academic advice, discuss course selection, and offer encouragement throughout the student’s studies.

10. How are students graded?

Every week students have readings and are assessed on their homework. Students also have to take quizzes and are assessed on their contribution to class discussion. Every end, of course, they have an exam, some of which are proctored.

11. Aren’t there concerns about online degrees?

People have various opinions regarding online degrees because they are a new concept in contrast to the old tradition of physically attending school. Studying online is an effective and successful way to learn, and many of the best universities in the world, as well as almost all universities in the U.S., are offering more and more online courses, and many offer full degrees online.

There is also a strong movement for open platform education; this means organizations like IAEC University are working to bring education online in a more affordable manner. Our peer-to-peer learning, which teaches the students to study and interact with other students from around the world, is part of what works best in international companies, where people need to work with teams from around the world. More and more companies are beginning to recognize online degrees these days – so we believe it is just a matter of time before there will be a universal acceptance of online education and online degrees.
